RCWMS 40th Anniversary Reading with Jeanette Stokes and Friends

The Regulator welcomes RCWMS Founding Director Jeanette Stokes for a reading and signing of her book Just Keep Going: Advice on Writing and Life, in celebration of the Resource Center for Women and Ministry in the South’s 40th anniversary. She will be joined by authors Julia Scratliff-O'Grady, Erin Lane, Meghan Florian, and Danyelle O'Hara.

RCWMS whose mission is to weave feminism and spirituality into a vision of justice for the world, began in 1977 to support and connect women who understood their lives and work as ministry. The RCWMS has expanded to include a wide variety of programs and resources on feminism, faith, creativity, spirituality, and justice. Please join us.

Jeanette Stokes founded the Resource Center for Women and Ministry in the South in 1977 and serves as its Executive Director. A graduate of Smith College and Duke Divinity School, she is an ordained Presbyterian minister living Durham and the author of several books, including Just Keep Going: Advice on Writing and Life.

Julia Scatliff O’Grady is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Communications at St. Andrews University. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill and lives in Chapel Hill with her family. She is the author of Good Busy: Productivity, Procrastination, and the Endless Pursuit of Balance.

Meghan Florian received her MTS from Duke Divinity School and MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. She teaches writing at William Peace University and is the Communications Director at RCWMS. Meghan is the author of The Middle of Things.

Erin Lane (M.T.S.) is author of the book Lessons in Belonging from a Church-Going Commitment Phobe and co-editor of the anthology Talking Taboo: American Christian Women Get Frank About Faith. She works remotely for the Center for Courage & Renewal to develop programs that deepen the leadership formation of people of faith and support healthy congregational life.

Danyelle O’Hara is an independent consultant to nonprofits and foundations, mostly on issues related to land, natural resources, and rural people. She is also a mom to a 16-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter, a partner to their father, a wonderful man, and a writer when the spirit moves her.  She is a former Durham resident and now lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
