POETRY SERIES: Sally Bliumis-Dunn with Howard Craft

Join us for the second in our POETRY SERIES as The Regulator Bookshop welcomes poet Sally Bliumis-Dunn, author of the new poetry, ECHOLOCATION, in conversation with Durham poet and playwright, Howard Craft.

“As a series, the poems in  ECHOLOCATION swing back and forth from the natural world keenly observed--rain, birds, sunflowers, even a clam-- to the contortions of the human heart, mostly caused by hurt and loss. And isn't that where the best poetry resides, between the thing and the emotion, the swan and the grief?” --Billy Collins, Poet Laureate of the United States (2001-2003).

Sally Bliumis-Dunn is the author of Echolocation (MadHat Press, 2018),  Second Skin (Wind Publications, 2010) and Talking Underwater (Wind Publications, 2007). She teaches at Manhattanville College and lives in Armonk, New York.

Howard L. Craft is a poet, playwright, and arts educator. He is the author of  two books of poetry, Across The Blue Chasm and Raising The Sky.  Craft teaches creative writing in schools, including the  Duke Center for Documentary Studies, and through various arts councils and organizations.  Craft is currently the Piller Professor of the Practice for the Writing for the Stage and Screen program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
