The Regulator welcomes award-winning poet and playwright Debra Kaufman, for a launch reading of her new poetry collection, God Shattered. Plus L. Teresa Church and Kate MacQueen will be reading their own, and other, poems from Wishbone Moon, an anthology of haiku by women in the international poetry community, featuring poets from six continents. This event is sponsored by the generous support of Jacar Press.
Poet and playwright Debra Kaufman is the author God Shattered (Jacar, 2019), Delicate Thefts (Jacar, 2015), The Next Moment (Jacar, 2010), and A Certain Light (Emrys, 2001) -- as well as three chapbooks. Her poems have been widely published in such magazines as Southern Poetry Review, Greensboro Review, Poetry East, North Carolina Literary Review, Spillway, and in numerous anthologies including Literary Trails of the North Carolina Piedmont (University of North Carolina, 2010), The Sound of Poets Cooking (Jacar, 2010); Word and Witness: 100 Years of North Carolina Poetry (Carolina Academic Press, 1999), and The Art and Craft of Poetry (Writers Digest Books, 1994). Debra's plays have been produced throughout North Carolina and elsewhere. She leads creative writing workshops and works as a freelance editor. A Midwest native, she has lived in North Carolina for over thirty years.
