To help promote “Indies First Day,” Small Business Saturday, and the kickoff of “Shop Independent Durham Week,” a bevy of local authors will be in the store helping customers pick out books to read and to give as gifts. Authors that have signed on include Dan “Predictably Irrational” Ariely; young adult novelist Sarah Dessen; mystery novelist Katy Munger; Tim Tyson, (Blood Don’t Sign My Name); and Jim Wise (Durham Tales). They will be joined by historian David Cecelski (Fire of Freedom), Laura Florand (The Chocolate Thief), and children’s authors Stephanie Greene (the Princess Posey series) and J.J. Johnson (This Girl is Different).
Yet another very special guest bookseller will be the Archivist of the United States, former Duke head librarian David Ferriero.
The Regulator’s guest booksellers will be working two hour “shifts” throughout the day, beginning at 10 a.m. and running until 9 p.m See the schedule below.
As November 30th is also the first day of Sustain-a-Bull’s “Shop Independent Durham Week,” The Regulator will be having a sale on dozens of our most “giftable” books, and folks can sign up for a chance to win an incredibly beautiful new facsimile edition of John James Audubon’s Birds of America, which normally sells for $350.00.
