Duke’s Alex Rosenberg will discuss and sign copies of his new book, The Atheist’s Guide to Reality: Enjoying Life Without Illusions. In this philosophical, upbeat book Rosenberg challenges the conventional view of atheism as bleak and nihilistic. Rather than argue against the existence of God, Rosenberg delves into subjects such as the difference between right and wrong, the nature of the mind, and the direction of human history – all with scientific rigor and good humor. Rosenberg is the R. Taylor Cole Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Duke University, as well as the co-director of the Duke Center for Philosophy of Biology.
