Please join us any time this weekend to support the Central Park School for Children in their annual fundraiser!  Saturday highlights include a bake sale, teacher choices and student reviews, and readings and performances by faculty and students.  A portion of all sales will be donated to the school’s Book Fund to be used for classroom and library purchases.  There will also be a Teacher Wish List book cart for specific classroom donation suggestions.
Start: 3:00 pm
To celebrate the publication of the essay collection Hands on the Freedom Plow: Personal Accounts by Women in SNCC (Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee), editor Faith S. Holsaert and contributor Margaret Herring will speak, along with Nia Wilson, executive director of SpiritHouse, and a youth member of this group, a local grassroots organization that supports the empowerment of, transformation, and self-determination of marginalized communities of color.  Cosponsored by the Sallie Bingham Center for Women’s History and Culture at Duke, the Durham County Library, and The Regulator.
