Social enterprise pioneer Bill Strickland will talk about and sign copies of his book, Make the Impossible Possible, and will share his experiences as a social entrepreneur.  Strickland is president and CEO of the Manchester Bidwell Corporation, the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild, and the Bidwell Training Center.  This event is co-sponsored by TROSA, the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, and the Social Enterprise Network of the Triangle.  Free and open to the public; please RSVP at www.caseatduke.org/events.
Start: 7:00 pm
Local author Randi Davenport will discuss and sign copies of her new memoir, The Boy Who Loved Tornadoes, which chronicles her journey to find care for her schizophrenic son (whose condition is complicated by autism).  Lee Smith writes, “A brave and beautiful story by a born writer, and a great mom, who has been able to find the child within his illness, and get him the help he needs—a daunting task in the nightmare world of bureaucracy that is our mental health system.  This book is like a beacon, offering clarity, inspiration, and validation for us all.”
