Local writer, illustrator, and environmental educator Bob Palmatier will read from and sign copies of his new children’s book, Neddy Mittens, the Polydactyl Cat.  In this story, two kittens from an animal shelter are adopted by a family, including single mother Sarah, 12-year-old daughter Gwen, and younger son Owen.  Gwen chooses the kitten Fred K., who has 6 toes on each front paw, and Owen chooses Neddy, who has 7 toes on each front paw).  Palmatier is also the author of Stormy’s Return, a book about the incredible journey of a spotted turtle.
