Hillsborough author John Bemis will read from and sign copies of his debut novel for middle graders, The Nine Pound Hammer.  Set in the post-Civil War South, this book asks the question, “What if the legendary John Henry had a son?” The misty magic of Appalachia lends both the history and the mystery to this first book in The Clockwork Dark trilogy.  Bemis will also play bluegrass music!
